Academic Integrity & AI Use

AI is a support tool

Skyloft Academy may use artificial intelligence to assist with explanations, tutoring hints, formative questions, curriculum drafting, practice generation, and preparation of feedback. AI output is treated as instructional support rather than institutional authority.

Human academic authority

The school administrator remains responsible for curriculum decisions, grading, attendance, completion status, credits, transcripts, and official school records. AI systems are not authorized to independently alter those records or represent that they have done so.

Student learning

AI assistance should support understanding rather than replace the student's own thinking. When assignments require independent work, source analysis, evidence, calculation, writing, or code, the expectation is that the submitted work demonstrates the student's learning.

Privacy and external tools

Private student records should not be published or unnecessarily sent to external services. When an outside resource requires an account or collects student data, the school evaluates that requirement before making the resource part of the student's workflow.
